 2015

The Annual John Huegill Memorial Bowls Day was held at Ballina Cherry Streets Sports on Sunday 9/11/14. Charity for the day was Ballina District Hospital where proceeds from the bowls day were to purchase a much needed Emergency Crash Trolley for the A&E Department.

The day was very successful with enough money being raised to purchase the trolley.

Members of the Rotary club presented a cheque to Acting Deputy Denise McCall and Operating Unit Manager Jan Enbsy who praised and thanked Ballina-on-Richmond for giving such wonderful financial support to the Hospital. Both mentioned the on-going need for up to date specialist equipment such as the trolley which really speeds up hospital emergency procedures and services to patients.

Recently our club was able to present a Cheque for $8,000 being proceeds from the Ballina Fine Wine & Food Festival to Ballina Branch of Australian Seabird Rescue.

Club President, Wayne Crawford presented the cheque to Cath Southwell and she was overwhelmed with the donation.

Cath has stated that the money will be used to purchase and have installed a new filtration system at their Ballina branch which is situated on North Creek Road, Ballina.
